Section 48 Inspection - SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools)

A Section 48 Inspection (SIAMS) is named after the relevant section it appears within the 2005 Education Act.  All Church of England schools are subject to what is called a Section 48 Inspection by an inspector appointed by their own diocese. The Section 48 takes a detailed look at the Christian, and specifically Anglican or Methodist, nature of the school.

The areas the inspection focuses on are:

  1. The school’s Christian character.

  2. The impact of worship on the school community.

  3. The effectiveness of Religious Education.

  4. The effectiveness of the leadership and management of the school.

We are pleased to be able to report that our recent Section 48 Inspection was rated as ‘Good’ and we were commended for the nature of our Collective Worship and links with the community.
